A group of Syriac Arameans of all ages gathers near Qamishli in the 1960s, singing together. Among them stand two renowned figures : composer Paul Mikhael Kouli (Urhoyo) and poet Danho Dahho (Arboyo) whose presence and voices embody the community’s vibrant cultural spirit and enduring musical heritage. These pioneers of modern Syriac Aramaic folk music and song are celebrated for masterpieces such as Shamo Mar and Kmisawri l-Quli.
