Malfono Aziz Oylu, Deacon of Azekh

Malfono Aziz Oylu was the religious teacher of Azekh. He was blind, yet he knew all the prayers by heart. In the first photograph, he appears, in 1983, with the deaconesses of the Mother of God Church of Azekh, standing in the garden of the village school near the olive tree. The second photograph was taken on Good Friday 1982, the Friday of the Crucifixion. Malfono Aziz belonged to the Barsomkiye and Nordonkiye tribes of Azekh. In both images, he is accompanied by the priest of Azekh Khuroyo Yusuf Bilen.
